Turbo Retrievers Mission Statement

Turbo Retrievers breeding program strives to breed healthy, intelligent and athletic field bred working golden retrievers. Our breeding program while once intended to just carry on our family pet’s memory, then a thriving hobby, is now a program with offspring sought nationally for field, obedience, agility, hunting and other working qualities.

The intelligence level, drive and intensity we produce are ideal to compete in the field and for providing a loving and devoted family member in your home. We have historically utilized frozen semen from the best studs in North America, dead or alive, using the fertility technology (surgical insemination with frozen semen samples) currently available.

Our breeding program is limited as we do not produce quantity, rather breeding quality dogs always intended for the betterment of the golden retriever breed. We take reservations well in advance for planned litters we announce and even reservations for a favorite individual girl we may plan to breed in the future. All our girls are subject to all of the recommended clearances specified by the Golden Retriever Club of America. Turbo Retrievers is a registered Breeder of Merit at the American Kennel Club. Most of our girls are campaigned in field trials, hunt test and obedience, and while we have traditionally excelled in hunt tests, we have accomplishments in obedience, and now stacked up with Master Hunters. We now have goals at the field trial level.

Our golden retrievers range in color, but are generally smaller frames built to run with speed. These dogs are devoted working dogs regardless of the challenge. These dogs traditionally have a low maintenance short, trim coat perfect for work in the brush and conditions in the home.

While our past mission has been to produce lighter goldens with the drive of a darker golden, we have achieved these goals with numerous lighter girls with tremendous drive and speed. However, we find ourselves surrounded by red dog performers. Our preference has been a dark medium golden dog and is still our preference. The tendency of the more successful stud dog producers for field work are predominantly red dogs. We promote our best girls into our breeding program, light or dark.

Our mission is to produce the very best possible field bred working golden retriever considering all factors available and utilizing the current level of reproductive technology available with the best proven studs.
